Mr. SokoThabisi is a seasoned professional trained in the field of Human Resources Management. He has held prime positions with different giant organisations in Lesotho. He has worked very hard in the establishment of human resources management department at BAM group of Companies. He actively developed human resources policies and procedures for the group. He further was the National Human Resources Manager of SOS Children’s Villages Lesotho where he strategically aligned the human capital of the village in Lesotho to the SOS international strategy and agenda. He participated in number of international human resources function seminars held by SOS Children Villages. He further headed HR Function at KEN-CON PTY LTD where he overseen the HR function of the company. He became the Private Secretary to the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology where he was responsible for overseeing the activities in the Office of the Minister. Liaised with the Principal Secretary in developing Ministerial policies as well as advising the Minister on technical issues while aligning the Ministry’s strategies to the central government agenda. He is currently working at Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) as the Executive Secretary Universal Service Fund in Lesotho where he is in charge of the day to day business of the Fund. He develops Fund strategies, prepares and manages the Funds budget. He also sits on the board of the Fund. He promotes access to communications in telephony, broadcasting, postal and broadband throughout the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. He is currently engaged in the projects of construction of 48 base transceiver stations for the rural areas of Lesotho through the help of AfDB and government of Lesotho, deployment of network infrastructure and internet at the institutions of higher learning in Lesotho, Connecting the postal offices with internet for public consumption to promote the use of ICTs as the way to improve livelihoods as specially in the recent advent of covid-19. He is dynamic, rounded in good practices and he is an advocate of sound cooperate governance wherever he is assigned.
